Logging downtime with reason codes

Downtime logged at the station is the single most valuable data you can give DOVA. It feeds OEE, your Paretos, and the recurring-issue view maintenance uses.

The capture flow

  1. Line stops. Operator taps Downtime on the station screen.
  2. Pick a reason code from your plant's list (e.g. material shortage, quality issue, changeover, equipment failure).
  3. When the line is running again, tap Resume. DOVA timestamps the resolve automatically.

Customizing reason codes

Company Admins and Location Managers can add, rename, or archive downtime reasons from the admin panel. Keep the list short — 10–15 reasons per plant is usually the right size.

DOVA will never stop you from logging downtime. If the right reason is not on the list, log it as "Other" and fix the list later — capture first, categorize later.
